Frequently Asked Questions

General

What is the RealtyPrinting.ca online print and ordering system?

It is a design and ordering solution that is self-serve, self-proofing and bridges a gap between online digital content and commercial print production. The process allows a user to create, edit, and approve computer-based online templates during the pre-press phase, eliminating the need to send proofs back and forth.  By having a centralized location, the user can design, proof, finalize, order by quantity needed, submit for production and pay for marketing collateral through a self-serve portal.

How does the RealtyPrinting.ca online printing system benefit me?

Online printing offers greater speed and cost advantages than ordering through sales agents. You can order at anytime, 24/7 and anywhere as long as you can access our website. Users also have the ability to create and edit their own marketing collateral to their preference without incurring additional art time and costs.

Who is a RealtyPrinting.ca customer?

Please note that special instructions may incur additional costs.

Products

What options are available for product design?

There are two options for designing and customizing a product. Click a product on the left-hand panel and choose one of the options.

  1. Browse & DIY Design: use this for pre-designed templates and self-service live proofing.

  2. Upload Design: using this option, you can upload your own PDF file. If you are uploading your own design, please ensure the file is provided with 0.5 cm bleed and crop marks and as high resolution. Producing files in Canva may not be print friendly. realtyprinting.ca will not fix issues with files created by users outside of the realtyprinting.ca solution. What is uploaded is what the end user will get so it is critical to provide files as you would like them printed, including correct spelling, images that are not fuzzy or low resolution, and correct contact details. If orders are received to your dissatisfaction based on printing supplied files, realtyprinting.ca will not be responsible for reprinting at no cost.

Printing

What is paper/text stock and card/cover stock?

The type of paper used for different purposes is expressed in weight. In the countries following the European system, it is grams per square metre (gsm or g/m2 or simply g) and in the US system it is Pound (lb). Lighter stock, used as letterhead, sell sheets and pamphlets is generally between 60 to 120 gsm (20 to 70 lb) and is called the paper or text stock. Anything heavier is considered card or cover stock and is used for business cards, postcards, greeting cards, pocket folders, etc.

What is the difference between glossy and matte paper stock?

Coated papers are available in two finishes – glossy (shiny) and matte (not
reflective). Glossy paper typically prints colours brighter and are best for
promotional, attention-grabbing marketing collateral. Matte papers are more
subtle and best for professional/legal/low profile printing.  Matte and gloss are preferences and either option is available and acceptable.

What printing method do you use?

We use offset printing, digital printing and large format printing and based on the quantity being printed, format required, and turnaround time required.

What is the resolution of the output file?

300 dpi (dots per inch) is the standard resolution of the output PDF file and with anything less the images may start to become blurry. If an image that is uploaded is low resolution or blurry, it will print low resolution or blurry. Our system cannot correct low resolution files.

What colour formats are supported by your site?

Our system supports CMYK for producing print.

What additional services do you have other than printing?

We offer design with our in-house graphic designers, mailing services, promotional items and marketing consultation. We also offer print other than items shown on the site. If you are interested in speaking to one of our agents regarding other services, please email info@realtyprinting.ca

Pricing

Are the prices listed on the site final? How do I know the total cost?

All prices shown on the site are final price. Our advance website is able to take in all the print options and calculate in real-time the exact cost for you. If you order more than 1 item, the total would be available to you on the checkout page. Shipping costs and taxes are included on the final page once the shipping location is provided.

Do you offer discounts for large orders?

The more print you purchase of each item, the lower the cost per unit. This is true for almost
every product at realtyprinting.ca.  If you want to order a higher quantity than what we offer on the site, please contact us at info@realtyprinting.ca for a quote.

Do you have a minimum order amount?

Each product will show the minimum quantity required to order. In most cases, such as large format signs, it may be one or two products. In other cases, such as business cards, the minimum order could be 500 pieces.
